Music Theory Tutoring

Music theory tuition that goes beyond just passing examsI offer a range specialist tutoring for music theory exams. For students requiring Grade 5 theory to take ABRSM’s higher practical exams, I provide tuition to help students pass with flying colours through ABRSM or Trinity. Using a wide range of interactive activities, I aim for all my students not only to pass, but to go away with a better understanding of the music they play and listen to.

For those who’ve passed Grade 5, I offer advanced theory tutoring up to the AMusTCL diploma level. This can, optionally, be combined with LCM’s composition exams and is ideal for students considering studying music at university or aiming for a career in music.

Musicianship for Instrumentalists

For instrumentalists who are struggling with their aural tests, I offer tutoring in general musicianship with singing skills aimed at improving your ear through a wide range of activities. This could also include preparation for practical musicianship exams which ABRSM accept as an alternative to Grade 5 theory for higher level exams.

Musicianship lessons can be booked as one-off blocks of six, as well as paid for as PAYG or monthly lessons.

School Exam Tutoring

This includes working on harmony and compositional skills, as well as revising the listening skills needed to pass the course and some acting and performance skills to boost the work students are doing in their instrumental lessons.

Exam tutoring can also be booked in blocks of six lessons as well as paid for on PAYG or monthly.
