I offer tuition in a range of other areas beyond singing. In particular, I specialise in teaching advanced (post-grade 5) theory and harmony, including preparation for university entry and advanced private examinations.
- Teaching takes place at my home in the Little France area of Edinburgh
- Lessons are offered for either 30 or 60 minutes
- Qualified teacher
- Options to take a range of qualifications to suit your needs
- One simple monthly payment of as little as £62
Once you have signed up, I will either be in touch to offer you a consultation lesson at a time suitable for you or I will confirm you have a space on my waiting list.
At the consultation lesson, students are taken through the terms and conditions of lessons, and asked to complete a student information questionnaire before having a short taster lesson.
Music Theory Tutoring
I offer a range of specialist tutoring for music theory exams. For students requiring Grade 5 theory to take ABRSM’s higher practical exams, I provide tuition to help students pass with flying colours through ABRSM or Trinity. Using a wide range of interactive activities, I aim for all my students not only to pass but to go away with a better understanding of the music they play and listen to.
For those who’ve passed Grade 5, I offer advanced theory tutoring up to the AMusTCL diploma level. This can, optionally, be combined with LCM’s composition exams and is ideal for students considering studying music at university.

Musicianship for Instrumentalists
For instrumentalists who are struggling with their aural tests, I offer tutoring in general musicianship with singing skills aimed at improving your ear through a wide range of activities. This could also include preparation for practical musicianship exams which ABRSM accept as an alternative to Grade 5 theory for higher level exams.
School Exam Tutoring
For students sitting school qualifications in music (either SQA National 3, 4 or 5, Higher, Advanced Higher, or GCSE and A-Level), I offer exam tutoring. This includes working on harmony and compositional skills, as well as revising the listening skills needed to pass the course and some acting and performance skills to boost the work students are doing in their instrumental lessons.
